// DESIGN IS OVER HELLO TO LIFE //

hello hello hello,

I am exhausted.
However; instead of sleeping, I'm blogging. #YOLOSWAGM80
I've been quite absent from the world outside of architecture (AKA REALITY) this past week or so. The studio has inadvertently become my second home and whilst I've shared some gr8 (hysterical) moments with people inside this lil cement box, I've also begun to really hate these confINING walls. I mean whoever designed this must've decided it would be best for students (WHO ARE ALSO HUMANS) to have no sight, sound or perception of REALITY. You can literally feel the stress in the atmosphere, which never fails to TRIPLE my own stress levels. You also tend to lose track of time, which is one of the reasons lots of people often stay their overnight. Personally, I haven't stayed overnight just yet (the latest I've stayed is 2am) BUT I CAN JUST IMAGINE. The studio does some weird things to your mental (and physical) state. Me and zoe spent half an hour decorating a white board and then spent the night posing in front of it and taking photos.

I've just handed in my HUGE fucking 120% worth design project. As usual, I left everything to the very last minute. So I had to fulfil the gross task of completing ALL of my drawings within 2 days.

I've put my fine point pens to good use
so many lines
I love the feel of different sized
fine tips. fek.
I spent hours at a time sitting at my desk which was actually really bad for my posture I realised. So what I did was set an alarm each hour to ensure that I'd stretch my back and move my neck around to relieve the strain. Except..I was playing my music and pretty much didn't hear any of my alarms lel oops. Drawing in all of the detail materials meant that EVERY time I closed my eyes - I'd see brick patterns. Just thinking about it right now is conjuring up the image of brickwork. NUUUUUUUUUUU.
Monday night was dedicated solely to model making which became an absolute chore. I normally enjoy arts and crafts; however when it comes to having to complete something within a very short time frame, the stresses eats up any passion I might've ever had for cutting and glueing together materials.

model making is tedious
Room's a mess // Life a mess
kinda shitty lol

CRITS TIME DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. I was the third person to present. My crit actually went surprisingly well! I received quite a lot of good feedback and no criticisms, just a couple of possible suggestions. So I'm fairly happy with the outcome! I hope my grade reflects the comments made hahaha.
My pin-up
As you can see throughout the day people started to get restless and really lost the ability to actually listen lel.

Also I thought I'd just share a couple of food snaps because food makes me happy :)
The Thai restaurant down on Hawken drive (it's like a 5 minute walk from Chancellor's Place) is quite nice. Pad Thai makes my heart melt and lightens up the mood after a soul sucking morning spent learning about concrete..or was it pavers? Steel? Who knows? Also with the student meal discount its only $11 for an entree plus a main meal. The meals are always so filling and it always ends up being not only my lunch, but also my dinner as well (which is good when I'm staying back late at the studio)

Every time I meet with Minnie we tend to get pizza and Chatime #YUMMERS. The honeydew Chatime is my go to drink. The Milkshakes from the Lakeside cafe are also to die for.
i luv it

Sam Smith tickets arrived in the mail :')

Now that design is over, I've only got an essay and a group assignment left! -~~!!!NO EXAMS!!~~- WOOOOHHOOOOO!!!

peace owt
