// DESIGN IS OVER HELLO TO LIFE //

hello hello hello,

I am exhausted.
However; instead of sleeping, I'm blogging. #YOLOSWAGM80
I've been quite absent from the world outside of architecture (AKA REALITY) this past week or so. The studio has inadvertently become my second home and whilst I've shared some gr8 (hysterical) moments with people inside this lil cement box, I've also begun to really hate these confINING walls. I mean whoever designed this must've decided it would be best for students (WHO ARE ALSO HUMANS) to have no sight, sound or perception of REALITY. You can literally feel the stress in the atmosphere, which never fails to TRIPLE my own stress levels. You also tend to lose track of time, which is one of the reasons lots of people often stay their overnight. Personally, I haven't stayed overnight just yet (the latest I've stayed is 2am) BUT I CAN JUST IMAGINE. The studio does some weird things to your mental (and physical) state. Me and zoe spent half an hour decorating a white board and then spent the night posing in front of it and taking photos.

I've just handed in my HUGE fucking 120% worth design project. As usual, I left everything to the very last minute. So I had to fulfil the gross task of completing ALL of my drawings within 2 days.

I've put my fine point pens to good use
so many lines
I love the feel of different sized
fine tips. fek.
I spent hours at a time sitting at my desk which was actually really bad for my posture I realised. So what I did was set an alarm each hour to ensure that I'd stretch my back and move my neck around to relieve the strain. Except..I was playing my music and pretty much didn't hear any of my alarms lel oops. Drawing in all of the detail materials meant that EVERY time I closed my eyes - I'd see brick patterns. Just thinking about it right now is conjuring up the image of brickwork. NUUUUUUUUUUU.
Monday night was dedicated solely to model making which became an absolute chore. I normally enjoy arts and crafts; however when it comes to having to complete something within a very short time frame, the stresses eats up any passion I might've ever had for cutting and glueing together materials.

model making is tedious

kinda shitty lol

CRITS TIME DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. I was the third person to present. My crit actually went surprisingly well! I received quite a lot of good feedback and no criticisms, just a couple of possible suggestions. So I'm fairly happy with the outcome! I hope my grade reflects the comments made hahaha.
My pin-up
As you can see throughout the day people started to get restless and really lost the ability to actually listen lel.

Also I thought I'd just share a couple of food snaps because food makes me happy :)
The Thai restaurant down on Hawken drive (it's like a 5 minute walk from Chancellor's Place) is quite nice. Pad Thai makes my heart melt and lightens up the mood after a soul sucking morning spent learning about concrete..or was it pavers? Steel? Who knows? Also with the student meal discount its only $11 for an entree plus a main meal. The meals are always so filling and it always ends up being not only my lunch, but also my dinner as well (which is good when I'm staying back late at the studio)

Every time I meet with Minnie we tend to get pizza and Chatime #YUMMERS. The honeydew Chatime is my go to drink. The Milkshakes from the Lakeside cafe are also to die for.
i luv it

Sam Smith tickets arrived in the mail :')

Now that design is over, I've only got an essay and a group assignment left! -~~!!!NO EXAMS!!~~- WOOOOHHOOOOO!!!

// ASSRAZ REUNITED + NEON LIGHTS //

hi helloo,

Forever 21 finally opened up on Thursday. After tech, Angie and I went to the city and checked out the 2 level store and did a bit of shopping. It was pretty good and the prices are actually pretty decent! BRISBANE NOW IT'S TIME TO BRING H&M OVER OK? OK.

I also went to Office works to buy some new fine point pens. Is it really lame that I got really excited about buying new pens? What has architecture done to me HAHAHAHA. Architecture is probably the most expensive course I could have possibly chosen. But I guess THE HEART WANTS WHAT IT WANTS. On top of uni fees, archi students have to endure the horridly, over-charged printing fees that uni has to offer. Paying $12 for a single A0-sized sheet of paper is not okay people. Excluding printing fees, I most definitely spend over $100 alone on materials each term. I mean, Eckersleys provides archi students with discount cards, but you have to also consider the fact that most materials and equipment from there are guaranteed to be more expensive than buying from regular art stores in the first place. SO EITHER WAY THERE'S NO WINNING. Also 2 weeks ago I spent $60 on steel capped boots, so i'm guaranteed to be hitting past the $200 mark on budgeting for materials and printing this term. Tracing paper is too expensive for its own good. SORRY BUT I JUST HAD TO RANT AND COMPLAIN OKAY BUT MISS MOVIN' ON.

RAHMEE CAME BACK TO BRISBANE FOR THE WEEKEND! YAYYYY A.S.S.R.A.Z finally reunited after waiting a VERY LONG TIME.

We went to Target because they were handing out free freddos for some unknown reason. There was also a huge Freddo so ObViOuSlY we took an embarrassing picture with him/her (?) because YOLO. Also, as you can see, Anh made an ASSRAZ necklace for Rahmee. The first thing that popped into my head was: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? WHAT MADE YOU THINK THAT THIS PHOTO OF ME WAS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM AESTHETICALLY PLEASING. But anyways, no hard feelings because this necklace is literally the funniest thing I have seen. My face actually looks like a blob fish (if you don't know, then google it and you'll have an uncomfortable lol). Also Seta's hairline - like what's up with that. HAHA so great though :')

We decided to model some clothes in Target whilst we were in there because WHY NOT? IMA basic bitch. ACTUALLY Target has some nice clothes 10/10 would shop there. Seriously, I don't have money for TopShop.

rahmee looks so cute

Mos Burger is the best place to hang out :') We used to go there after school all the time, and it just brings back great memories. I LOVE THEIR ICED TEA SOMETHING ABOUT IT IS JUST SO NICE. NOT TOO SWEET, NOT TOO DILUTE, JUST RIGHT.

This polaroid of Zoe and Rahmee was just too cute for me to not include in my blog post. HEHEHE DON'T KILL ME GUYS YOU LOOK REAL COOT OKAY.
I ALMOST FORGOT: btw the chicken nuggets at Mos Burger beat any other chicken nuggets just FYI. The burgers are also not better at Hungry Jacks; They're better at Mos Burger. There's some serious promoting going on here WHEN WILL I BE NOTICED AND RECEIVE FREE VOUCHERS AND GIFTS FROM COMPANIES? PLS? Lel never gonna happen. YOLO OH WELL.

left behind
We stumbled across this cute vintage/ op shop; Zoe's haven.
HELLO
They were also selling pretty affordable record players...hmm maybe when I'm richer (aka probably never). Also does music ACTUALLY sound better when it's on vinyl? Or is that just some myth? Well apparently yes, I just looked it up here. HMMMMMMMMM

records upon record upon records. This section smelt very OLD

Reality Bites. YOU LOOK LIKE A DOILY +
I actually really need to watch this movie (TY SETA). Zoe and I've watched the trailer and it looks so funny ALSO Winona Ryder. Maybe I'll watch it today....

Unfortunately I couldn't stay for dinner because I had neon run! I met up with Caroline and we headed over to riverstage. Earlier on in the day, we'd already picked up our packets which included a shirt, neon sharpie, sound activated bracelet, and neon bandana. NOT GONNA LIE I was expecting more HAHAHAHA. I mean I paid $50 for this puh-lease where's my neon face paint at m8. Before, throughout and after the run there were activities as well as a mini rave at the stage. Just before entering the gates we found ourselves in a lil predicament. I actually managed to lose my label that was meant to be pinned onto my shirt. WHICH MEANS I COULDN'T GET IN. So we raced over to the information tent and managed to get another one. THANK GOD.

The run itself was actually REALLY REALLY fun! There were stop points every km or so where there'd be different zones. My favourite zone was the FOAM PARTY! Me and Caroline spent AGESS just playing in the foam and bubbles and I swear we were laughing so hysterically, everyone must've thought we were crazy. (My photos are all a little blurry because I was laughing and moving around so much)

BUBBLE EVERYWHERE!!!

After what felt like FOREVER yet also not long enough at all, we decided it was time to move on and continue with the run. We were covered with foam and giggling whilst running alongside the Brisbane river. I ACTUALLY FELT SO FREEEEEEEE

legs still covered in bubbles after leaving the foam zone

There were a few other zones, but none of them compared to the foam party. One of the more memorable zones was the Silent Disco. Upon entering, we got given headphones and everyone was jut dancing to the same rave. From the outside we must have looked absolutely ridiculous; everyone would just been foolishly dropping a non existent bass beat. There were quite a few families in SouthBank probably wondering what was going on HAHAHA. The entire run looped around Riverstage, SouthBank and the City.

After neon run, I dropped by Hannah's birthday dinner! YEP whilst everyone was dressed up nicely I was in my running clothes that had only just been previously soaked in foam a couple of hours ago.

Afterwards, we went to Passiontree and got some drinks. THEIR SMOOTHIES ARE THE BEST SERIOUSLY THE BEST. Over the summer holidays, I'll be trying out each and every flavour for sure.

// CHEERIOS //

// http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMP-X1USOFE //

hello,
Every wednesday is pasta day! We always buy gnocchi from the pasta man at the wednesday markets in the city. The gnocchi is pan-fried, crunchy and just absolutely amazing. I've tried other store bought gnocchi and none of them come close to this.
Gnocchi from the Pasta Man!
We made concrete pavers at uni last week. !wow!fun! I had to buy steel capped boots (which I bought the night before from Target  for $60 lol). Steel capped boots are so bulky and heavy. Also it's pretty much impossible to get nice looking ones - TRUST ME I'VE LOOKED. Some of the slightly better looking ones are mostly over $150 which is probably unnecessary considering the fact that I'm not going to be wearing these unless I have workshops.

Zoe FINALLY had a lil gatho for her birthday. CHEERIOS WERE PROVIDED which made me VERY VERY happy. I'd been craving cheerios for the past 3 weeks (don't ask why) and Zoe answered my prayers. Also just to clarify - I'M MOST DEFINITELY NOT REFERRING TO THE CEREAL. I actually really hate the cereal; in fact I don't really like cereal for breakfast at all. Ever. Cereal just doesn't taste good anytime before midday.
Zoe: mmmm squieeechy // Georgia: FOK yEAH cheerio // Angie: GUYS pls
The Oriental Way // Frying Haloumi
Zoe m80 you fucked up. These barbecue shapes will never be consumed.

On monday I really wasn't feeling the uni vibe. SO I HAD A SMOKED SALMON BAGEL INSTEAD. It was a really good bagel guys - so much better than a 2 hour lecture and a tutorial lel. Seta came to Indro; we had lunch and then watched Gone Girl (after spending an hour in the kids library section)After watching the movie I can honestly say that I AM NOT OKAY. The movie was just SO INTENSE and SO MUCH. Everybody please go watch it and you will understand this feeling that I am currently incapable of describing. There will be no movie spoilers in this post because HONESTLY if you asked me what the movie was about I WOULDN'T EVEN BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN OR DESCRIBE ANYTHING THAT IS MILDLY COHERENT. All I can say is that the movie felt like 3 movies in 1.

ALSO um guys. The Script is coming back to Brisbane and so I'm like HYFR. Danny O'Donoghue was my ultimate man crush throughout all of grade 11. I mean, I watched an ENTIRE season of The Voice UK just to see him. In other words, I'm going to be splurging my money on MORE concert tickets.

O DANNY BOYY
Also I really like this cover of Forever (HAIM) by James Bay so I thought I'd just leave that link there.
