// BOMBAY BOMBAY BOMBAY //

// http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZCfqhRgJ0Q //

*Okay so this blog post is going to be a bit long because my life has been slightly more eventful now that I'm not spending all my time in the studio* *Also this blog post contains A LOT of THE Zoe*

So basically it's FINALLY uni holidays. I still have things due straight after this (very short) break but #YOLO. I'm just glad that I can stress a little bit less. (I actually got my first ever white hair wednesday night, and I'm D E V A S T A T E D.)

We celebrated the completion of our tech assignment and Zoe's coming of age by being rebels without a cause.

I also fit in some shopping on Thursday and Friday hehehe. Although I only just realised that I'm actually going to be quite poor because I'm not working this holidays since our shop is undergoing renovations...which means NO INCOME. THE HORROR.
I bought some expensive togs because I figured it'd MOTIVATE me into exercising. (Or maybe that's just another really lame excuse to make up for me spending money I shouldn't be spending)
I GOT A HAIRCUT. All the bleach is gone
pineapple togs so cute

SO YEAH I finally got a haircut which was wayyyyy long overdue. Now my hair feels so much lighter and healthier without my bleached ends. I normally go to Ryota Hair on Albert St in the City. It's such a cute place and the people there are all so nice :')
so fooking cute // RYOTA
I bought a pair of boots from Zu because they were 30% off #lol. Also because the other boots I ordered off ASOS were too big for me so I gave them to Tiff. (yEP her feet are bigger than mine)

Saturday night was the Bombay Bicycle Club concert. I hung out with Zoe for a few hours at her house before the concert BUT THEN we realised it would be really difficult to get into the valley because of Riverfire. We were kinda like oops...should've thought this through first. We ended up running for the train which was packed with people. The journey from SouthBank to Fortitude Valley was a NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE. After Central station, the train entered a tunnel and started going faster and faster and I SWEAR TRAINS NORMALLY DON'T TRAVEL THAT FAST. AND BASICALLY I ACCIDENTALLY SAID WHAT I WAS THINKING OUT LOUD AND WAS LIKE 'WHAT IF THIS IS A SUICIDE TRAIN' (because of all the high terrorist alerts in Brisbane). Every single person in my train carriage was probably thinking 'fuck you why would you say that out loud'. BUT TURNS OUT it wasn't a suicide train and I'm still alive AND I've come to the realisation that I'm just a VERY paranoid person. After arriving at the valley (alive THANK GOD), we ate at the food court to save some time. BUT HERE'S THE THING. As previously mentioned, we chose to not go to the Architecture Ball and go to Bombay instead. When we were at the train station we saw SO MANY people dressed in gowns because the ball was held at Cloudland. Me and Zoe were like 'FOK WHAT IF WE SEE PEOPLE FROM OUR COHORT AND THEY SEE US EATING PIES IN THE FOOD COURT'. IT WAS A REALLY STRESSFUL TIME FOR US. We did actually see a couple of people we recognised and in my mind I just thinking 'OH SHIT PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN AND PRETEND YOU DON'T EXIST RIGHT NOW'.

We met with Darcy and walked over to the Tivoli. We also saw Acacia, Rainey and her friend and so we stood with them. We were all SO CLOSE to the stage.

The opening acts were East & City Calm Down. They were both so good!! East was actually so amazing, I would marry her in a heartbeat. Her singing and stage presence and hair and EVERYTHING. FOK. SRSLY PLS MARRY ME. She also covered Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood and I was like 'okay yep you're the definition of perfection'. EVERYBODY HAVE A LIL LISTEN TO HER SINGLE 'OLD AGE'
City Calm Down was also really good; their performance was actually so intense. Extremely strong eye contact/10.

After the opening acts, you could actually feel the anticipation for Bombay Bicycle club in the crowd. My excitement levels  QUAD-TRIPLED within a time frame of 15 minutes. When they came on stage and started singing everybody was just in a state of bliss. The light beams made me feel as though I had transported into a parallel universe where Brisbane actually gets good things.
AND THE DANCING. Everyone was just dancing without a care in the world. My feet may be sore right now, but everything was absolutely worth it.

SO CLOSE I MIGHT DIE (also shitty quality photo SOZ)
CAMERA LADY YOU'RE IN MY SHOT

The best moments were when the crowd sang along and Jack would close his eyes and just have the cutest smile on his face. HE'S JUST SO CUTE. ESPECIALLY WHEN HE RAISES HIS ARMS AND THE LIGHT SHINES ON HIM. Everyone in the audience just looked up and the very fact that we were sharing this experience and BREATHING THE SAME AIR was just heavenly.

PLS LOVE ME
IM GETTING IMMENSE POST CONCERT DEPRESSION
crYING

This has to be one of my favourite concert experiences. I have yet to remember a single flaw; literally everything was SO SO perfect.

After the concert me and Zoe both bought albums and Darcy bought an LP. Here's an absolutely horrible polaroid me and zoe took (at the train station) holding our albums. Also here's a (kinda) candid pola of zoe strumming the guitar.

I don't even remember what happened after the concert to be honest WE WERE ALL JUST IN SUCH A DAZE. On the way back to Zoe's house we were just being derps and IDEK.
get off the road zoE // life of a vlogger

The next morning we went to Boggo St Markets for Breakfast :) Look at these scenic pics. SO GR8

the hillllllss are aliveeeee with the sound of muuuuusiic

The Bike Thief
Waht 2 heck?!?

I saw this grassy field and was like 'OI Zoe go lie in the field' AND SO SHE DID. Except we had to wait for people to walk past first so we wouldn't be judged HAHHAHA

waiting for them to walk past
YUS! photo timeee
It was a pretty eventful weekend and I'm SO satisfied. I'm still trying to get back into reality after that concert BUT HOW.
ps. I saw a car swerving on a road with billows of smoke expelling from the rubber tyres this afternoon. Which was kinda concerning.

I shall probably blog a lot more often this week because I'm on holidays and I actually have more time to do things that are blog worthy.

TO START OFF THIS BLOGPOST WITH A BANG I HAVE A (NOT SO) INTENSE STORY TO TELL. *Play this intense movie trailer music whilst you read on for ultimate experience* It's even been provided for you, so just click HERE. (srsly guys pls play the music)

*QUEUE TRAILER MUSIC*

As mentioned in my previous blogpost, I was basking in relaxation after the (semi) completion of my housing essay. The day was Wednesday. Times were good back then. There were no worries on my mind; I was simply enjoying life as it was: taking selfies, eating jellybeans, jumping around the house, sleeping in until 10am without a worry in the world.

*insert appropriate amount of silence*

THAT ALL CHANGED ON THURSDAY. With my tech assignment and workbook due dates creeping up closer, I felt as though I was on a roller coaster headed towards inevitable doom. As I now sit and reflect, I realise I have wasted too much time, too much time that I don't have. The following days will truly test my limits. How will I overcome these lie-on-the-road-jump-off-a-cliff emotions? Will I maKE IT? WIL I POWER THROUGH? WILL THESE EXPERIENCES MAKE ME A NEW PERSON? WHAT OBSTACLES WILL BE STANDING IN MY WAY? WILL THIS STORY HAVE A HAPPY ENDING? WILL FATE LEAD ME TOWARDS MY DESTINED PATH? DOES A THING SUCH AS DESTINY EXIST? WHY ARE HOLIDAYS ONLY ONE WEEK? HOW MANY MORE RHETORICAL QUESTIONS CAN I THINK OF?

A-stress-free Annie coming to your nearest cinemas when all her assessments are over (to watch that new indian cooking movie. It looks really good).

I'm really just on a procrastination high. What am I doing with my life?

Friday night was Vicky's Harry Potter 18th; it was pretty fun dressing up as ma home boy Harry. I can't believe there's actually a whole generation of little people who have not grown up alongside Harry - AKA my little sister who has not yet read the books, despite my constant nagging. Although I do think it has something to do with the fact that my mum ALSO reads Harry Potter and has tried persuading her to do the same. I mean she's 13, jeezus mum she's too cool for parents right now. R E B E L do what she wants whenevA she wants.

HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS OF ME BEING HARRY POTTER + OTHER PEOPLE ALSO BEING HARRY POTTER + MOANING MYRTLE + HEDWIG + I GUESS WE'RE ALSO ALL CHO CHANG.

// 1 2 MANY SELFIES //

A season that's dawning,
A consciousness forming,
An ocean of disappointment

(I'm back to being lame and posting lyrics of the songs I link)
Also, I wondered for so long: WHY IS THIS SONG SO FAMILIAR?!? THEN I REALISED IT'S SAMMY'S NATIONAL DANCE ROUTINE SONG FROM DANCE ACADEMY. Oh my god bringing back all the bittersweet feels.

PS GUYS GUESS WHAT. TODAY WAS A WHOLE DAY OF DOING NOTHING AND BEING ABLE TO SLEEP IN AND FINALLY GET MORE THAN 8 HOURS OF SLEEP. I FEEL REJUVENATED. (This will probably no longer be the case in like 2 days)

Yes, the second photo was taken in my parents room and I actually put on self timer JUST to take this photo. AND it looks like I'm eating my hair. Anything to avoid starting project 3 for design. WHEN CAN IT BE HOLIDAYS?

Vintage Ad for Shell Chemical
Corporation for Dieldren, 1995
Sometimes I try to imagine the thought process that goes behind these advertisements BUT I JUST CAN'T. I was looking up vintage ads for my essay (not just for fun ok) and some of the ad posters from the 1900's seriously just made me lol. They all embody that 'HANDSOME BLACK MAN DRINKING COFFEE OR TEA WITH STRONG EYE CONTACT'(Facebook, 2014) vibe, except intensified on so many different levels. Did I really just in-text reference? I must still be recovering from my last minute essay that was due Tuesday morning. As logic would have it, I decided to leave 85% of my essay to complete on Monday night...let's just say I managed to watch the sun set and rise, all in one sitting. This is probably one of the shittiest essays I've ever written in my life and 1/3 of it was just copying and pasting Arcade Fire lyrics HAHAHA. (laughing but actually crying at how shit my essay was)

Picture this scene: The sun majestically rises above the horizon, casting a feint glow across my backyard. Birds are swarming the sky and making their presence known. I take a deep breath as I resume the task of typing gibberish and throwing any form of correct referencing out the window. THEN A FUCKING BUG FLIES UP MY NOSE. AS THOUGH MY NIGHT/MORNING WASN'T GOING BAD ENOUGH. A BUG. FLIES. UP. MY. NOSE. I WANT TO ERASE THAT MEMORY AND FEELING FROM MY MIND FOREVER.

So, Misha is back in Brisbane! This time she's here to stay woohoo! Her mum also brought jelly bellies for me and tiff hehehhe she knows the way to our hearts <3. These'll be my study snack for this week; maybe I'll even bring them to the studio tomorrow...if I feel like sharing #partyinthestudio

This is kinda embarrassing...but I ordered the selfie camera stick on ebay HAHAHHAHA. It's finally arrived! I actually love it. NOT EVEN SORRY. This is the answer to everybody's dream oscar selfie. SERIOUSLY EVERYONE JUMP ON THIS BANDWAGON PLEASE SO IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE JUDGEMENT DAY EVERY TIME I WHIP THIS OUT AT EVENTS.

From now on, you'll probably see a lot more group selfies with my camera stick HAHAHAHA.

This Friday is going to be Vicky's Harry Potter themed 18th, so I had to scavenge my closet (and my mums) to try and find a costume. I literally spent all of Sunday procrastinating and sending snapchats dressed as Harry Potter. HELP. These Harry Potter glasses make me feel like a new person. I ALSO APOLOGIZE - THIS BLOGPOST HAS WAYYYY TOO MANY SELFIES. I'M NORMALLY NOT THIS NARCISSISTIC I PROMISE. BTW I'm kinda confused because my task sheet for my project is little random and holds no relevance whatsoever to architecture so I DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING. This semester has just been constant shrugs, confused black girl poses, and whatthefuck moments.
Apparently I have 4 hours worth of videos I'm suppose to watch before my workshop tomorrow...lol #fuCKDat There's no way that's happening tonight. I just had almond meal orange cake and I'm feeling satisfied. I don't need hours of learning about cement to ruin my life.
